Independence History |
| Independence Chapter was one of the original four chapters that broke off of The Mother Chapter. It was in existence for several years and then went defunct in the mid 1950's. It was re-chartered again in the early 1960's and was active up until four years ago when it was placed on an inactive status. We were able to bring it back to active status in May of 2003. Our chapter is sponsored by Palestine Commandery No. 17. There have been four state MC's from our chapter. Harold Bryant, James Jackson, Roger Salyer and Scott McSwain. Independence chapter was considered the best over all ritual chapter in the state and one of the best in the entire country from the mid 70's until the mid 90's, and will return to that position in the mid 00's. |
